I'm Ellie, and I'm thrilled to be the founder of Events and Wedding Day Childcare Services!
Back in 2020, I graduated from Drama School with a BA Hons in Acting for Stage and Screen, gaining skills in everything from contemporary and classical theatre to comedy, TV, singing, dancing, and even stage combat! But my true passion has always been teaching and working with children—helping them explore their creativity, express themselves, and have fun through play.
Fast forward to 2023, and Ray of Stars was born! It all started with an idea when my niece and nephew were born—I saw a real need for a space where little ones could be engaged, entertained, and cared for in a safe and creative environment. We started with weekly sessions and quickly expanded into different settings, including events and weddings!
I’m Susie, and I’m so happy to be part of Events and Wedding Day Childcare Services!
I’m a proud mother of two beautiful girls, Josie and Ellie, and a loving nanny to Sidney and Frances. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in different caring and educational roles. I began as an LSA in a primary school, before moving into a special needs school as a nursery nurse. During that time, I also worked with older children as a senior teaching assistant, gaining invaluable experience supporting young people of all ages.
Currently, I work as a community carer—a role that is as rewarding as it is varied. No two days are ever the same, and I love being able to support and care for others in meaningful ways.
I’d describe myself as kind, caring, patient, sociable, and trustworthy. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, musical theatre, dancing, and cooking—things that keep me creative, active, and connected with others!
At Event and Wedding Day Childcare Services, we understand that weddings and events are a time for celebration, but for parents, they can also come with the challenge of keeping little ones entertained. That’s where we come in! Our childcare services ensure children are engaged, safe, and having fun, so parents can relax and enjoy the occasion stress-free.
From a fully equipped crèche with toys, games, and activities to dedicated one-on-one nanny care, we tailor our services to suit your unique needs. Whether it’s an intimate gathering, a grand celebration, Business Day, Awards Evening, Workplace in need of Childcare, our experienced team provides professional, friendly, and reliable childcare that blends seamlessly into your event.
At EWDC, we are proud to have an incredible team of dedicated and experienced nannies who are passionate about working with children. Each member of our team is DBS Enhanced checked, First Aid certified, Safeguarding trained, and SEND accredited, ensuring the highest standards of care. With backgrounds in childcare, education, and early years development, our nannies bring a wealth of experience in creating safe, engaging, and fun environments for little ones.
Outside of running Ray of Stars, I love to travel, attend music festivals, spend time with family and friends, and go to the gym. I’m also still actively auditioning in the Performing Arts industry while working as a freelance teacher.
We work closely with Wedding Venues, Planners, and couples to create a family-friendly experience, making sure your special day is enjoyable for guests of all ages.
